That clampy system is the only one I've seen that doesn't involve anything on the bottom of the pedal. Even zip ties depend in rubber feet to make a good contact and avoid scratching.

I have two boards with different systems so can maybe give some useful thoughts. Neither has been really heavily road-tested yet, but I'd trust either.

I have a Temple Audio board with most pedals using the sticky-back quick-connect plates. Removing/replacing these is a ten-minute job, so not a big deal as a "project" but annoying on-the-fly. With the plate on, changing a pedal takes seconds, which is great. The trouble is that you don't want the metal plate scratching the floor, or a different pedalboard system. For pedals that don't live on this board it can be less trouble to cable-tie. (For Boss-style pedals this gives a very neat and secure effect, too!)
I really like their system. It's a tad expensive though, and I don't really want to put sticky stuff on the back of pedals. If they had the clamp system, I probably would have spent the extra money for one of those.
