This is awesome! Unlike the album, the "Chinese Democracy of soft-synths" seems like it'll be well worth the wait.
Having a dedicated thread for sharing patches would be really helpful to see what tricks others are figuring out, but I'll leave that to U-He's discretion...
One area completely absent from U-He synths I hope changes with Zebra3 is parameter randomization. This can be really powerful (not to mention fun), especially when each section can be randomized individually.
Melda's "smart randomization" is the best implementation as it limits the parameter ranges to those most likely to be "musical" by basing them on the existing presets. The results are often pleasantly surprising and instructive. It's easy to do with Reaper scripts, but I always prefer when it's built in.
I'm sure a lot of users will find satisfaction in tweaking the wavetable editor for 3 hours and not recording a note of music, but if a few "rolls of the dice" can come up with something equally unique in seconds it frees up time for the rest of the creative process.
No matter how intuitive Zebra3 becomes a majority of users will barely scratch the surface, be intimidated when they do, and mostly rely on presets. Randomization is sound design for non sound designers (we can't all be Howard Scarr or Richard Devine
