The companies that do that don't play games boasting how generous they are giving you a "gift" and then a month later just happen to put out the real version for sale. That's what's despicable. And you AA sycophants just go right along with it. It would be more honest if they at least called the Free version Grey Lite. But no, they present Grey like it's a full fledged version which it obviously IS NOT!It does exactly what it did when it was released, to public acclaim. There is an even better one. You can buy that if you want even more of what Grey does. This is extremely standard practice in the industry and nobody came in here thinking they were just doing us a favor. If that was your fantasy and this dispels it for you, that is doing a nice thing for you, because that kind of fantasy has no place in this industry IMO.
There are some great freeware devs and AA is absolutely not one of them, it should come as no surprise that free releases are promotional in nature. They are also still free, and while you can pay more to get more, you get what is already there, for free. Feel like this shouldn't be even 1% controversial. Do you routinely show up in threads for every other company that has a stripped down free version and a more robust commercial version to try to take them down a peg too? If so, why?
