i wonder if old people can handle cocaine
when my bro first said "anybody who was ever great, they all took drugs"
my first thought was "oh really, i don't believe that"
i told my bro...
"it's because the music business sucks that musicians took drugs"
and i thought of bobby fischer, the boy
the boy didn't take drugs, he was a great chess player from the start?
but what about bobby fischer, the man?
what if he took drugs during his games with the russians?
were the powers that be already screening for drugs in 1972?
so after, i'm like "maybe it's true, maybe my bro is right"
i mean drugs are not ineffective, they do something?
sure, maybe cocaine users used it to get "up"
but maybe it did other things
like make them better than they are?
better songwriters, i mean
look at the rock group kiss
they supposedly didn't take drugs?
maybe they should have?
not that their songs are bad
they are a million times better than my socalled songs
but david bowie's songs are a billion times better
i mean one can see what steroid and other drugs do for the body
it makes olympians "better"
maybe cocaine and other drugs like that did something else,
besides get musicians "up"
and if it's proven later that yes drugs do make you better than you are...
then it's still okay because in david bowie's prime, everyone took them
it was all levelled?
so, it's not like i'm going to get rid of my music collection,
just because "maybe" they were all created by druggies
they are still great songs and are enjoyable, no matter what
to me, at least
maybe the reason why "old" hitmakers don't have hit songs anymore
is that old people tend to not take "those" drugs anymore
they instead take drugs for constipation, hemmorhoid, etc
but what if those old hitmakers do take tons of cocaine again?
their old hearts might explode before they can finish those hit songs?
come on don henley,
write that hit song
"boys of autumn" perhaps?
