For me, there's really only one reason to get this. Software doesn't recreate the live experience, so that's just not the same. If you use Softube's modular then this is worth the asking price to get the filter in your modular.I've been demoing Model 82 for a bit now, and my mid-term conclusion is that it's quite a basic and rather weak synth engine. It's kind of "meh," overall, maybe "meh+" for the filter uniqueness/mojo. But the envelope kinda blows. Maybe that's how the real SH-101 is, IDK, but if so, I'd be quite unhappy with the vintage hardware if I was inclined to buy. My JX-8P already covers the slow-envelope territory, but at least it's poly. Even for $19, I'm probably not going to buy it.$19 "account deal" on Model 82 right now until Feb 13th! This soft-synth is worth 19 bucks, right?
