I'm relatively interested in all things modular/ semi modular, but I'm a bit confused anyhow all the kilohearts' stuff works together.
I downloaded the free essentials, and they seem to just be individual modules that load as plugins. If I were to get Phase Plant (their synth) I would be able to chain these up but only as part of a synth patch? To do big modular fx I'd have to get snap heap? Or can audio be pipes into phase plant via a side chain? I think that I'd really have to get the big bundle to use everything as synth bits and also as fx, while also having all of their more interesting parts. If I didn't already have so much stuff it would be a more intriguing purpose, but I have a good bit of modular software already. Does their framework allow for feedback loops inside a patch? This is less common and could be cool. I guess I'll be demoing some more to find out.
