Yes quite different. Wavetables use a series of single cycle waveforms while Wavesequencing uses full size multi samples with as you say some cross fading (or not if you want abrupt changes from one sample to the other for more rhythmic sequences).Is wavesequencing different from wavetable synthesis?
EDIT: Looks like it's more about crossfading samples.
