No I haven't tried it yet but that's a really good idea. 16 Layers, each with full .sfz support should yield some very impressive Wavesequencing sounds based of course on the sample content available to choose from. You might have tried it already, but is there a way in SM3 similar to do the wave sequencing you were a fan of? I won't mention the other synth, but it rhymes with "music".
I guess you could use a different sample on each layer, use about 8 layers like that and then have it cycle through them?
For ambient, cinematic, soundscapes, FX, etc Wavesequencing is a very powerful tool and one of my favorite synthesis methods.
All that would be needed is a way to delay each layer so that the samples in them trigger one after the other instead of all at once and that should be easy to accomplish with MSEGs to Layer Amp Volume and then a way to have cross fades between each layer so the transitions are smooth. The question is would it be possible for the sequence to keep cycling while holding notes for long periods? In other words instead of going say 1,2,3,4 when you hit a key then stopping, having the sequence keep cycling over and over while keys are held down.
I think that will be the challenge of the day.......
