If you have a perpetual license , you get free updates for a year .What I still don't understand: Is the S1 Pro that you can keep after the 12 months subscription upgradeable? Or are you then stuck with this version (at whatever version number, e.g. 7.3.2) forever? I mean: there must be some substantial difference between perpetual and subscription version, otherwise the pricing model wouldn't make sense. In answer to my own question, I have just noticed that Thomann have reduced the full 12 month + version to £125, with the upgrade from version 6 at £122, which effectively eliminates the upgrade path.
It would seem to me to be counter productive to upgrade an existing version. (Unless I am missing something) It would appear to be financially wiser to open a new account with a different email, and purchase the new + version. A person would then own version 6 and 7, and have the old version to gift to someone, or maybe sell.
If the year is over and you decide not to update , you can still that version .
Ex: Im still on 4.6 , if tommorow I decide to upgrade to 7 , I will get a year long updates untill 3 nov. 2025 .
After that ( without renewing ) I can still use 7
