Not really "continuous time" as much as "real-world frequencies" vs. "normalized frequencies" (relative to unit time-step) .. but mostly w=2*pi*f/fs is just notational convenience really.In case it isn't obvious, Mystran replacing (2 pi fc / fs) -> w is just moving from continuous time frequency (where 0<fc<fs/2) to discrete time frequency (where 0<w<pi), and makes the math easier to write.
