"Professional" is for sure not the right term but there are many things which need an upgrade instead of including the 10.000nd mediocre but 4x more CPU consuming nonsense plugin which sounds worse and has a 1/10th of features a comparable 3rd party device would have...What is professional stuff for you? i think i can do my 'professional stuff' in Bitwig. To be honest i like bitwig as a 'scratch pad' it is quick and fun to use with a lot of possibilities. If i wanted to do some studio tracking a band or orchestra i would use something else. I think if you make it more like pro-tools or something it is probably becoming cluttered, too much stuff going on. But thats my personal view ofcourse.
The PR editor is partly a big joke (and this has nothing to do with becoming a DAW like Pro Tools or similar) i.e. opening every new clip at 1/32nd resolution for many users, no scale options (Bitwig is the only "big" DAW meanwhile without), often graphical issues (weird doubling, flickering etc...), no user defaults, silly zooming, you name it...
As well for me Bitwig has become much more unstable... not necessarily crashing but little niggles all of the time that stuff randomly didn´t work/execute anymore... not funny!
This stubborn kind of update cycle becomes slowly very annoying and boring... many (as said mediocre but CPU hog) devices, little important DAW features... and this for the still most expensive update price on the market!
"Great ideas" of the crew like the latest great MSIX disaster doesn´t help either with confidence in the product... sometimes these people seem to run around begging for a beating...
And this seems to become slowly slapping back into their faces...
I never was completely convinced of Bitwig and so I sold it... rebought, sold it... it was never a problem...until now...
Second hand prices are now at "tip level" and even there it´s meanwhile nearly impossible to sell it... There are no people wanting it... I try since weeks at a price I sold Bitwig in the past in less than 24h... and now? Not a single reaction since nearly 3 weeks...
Meanwhile Bitwig compares more or less to a "one hit wonder" and it´s fame is slowly sinking while the actual star is currently rising like a phoenix from the ashes...
The latest 12.1 update contains 20 times more of usefull features what Bitwig came up with since at least 5 years ... and this with really innovating features... not Bitwigs standard Copy/Paste ripping off other developers.
It´s really a pity ... there were some great approaches at least expanding ripped off stuff with their own ideas but at the very end the lack of developement quality shines through more and more...
