The simplest (and main) use case is to restore values from presets. Here is an example from Bidule when you load a preset (OSC protocol) and same in Max (ok, not really DAWs, but I thought Bitwig was on modular side of DAWs, best of both worlds):

Anyway this will not work, because once affected, CCs will be updated on all preset copies including deactivated ones. The only solution I found is to use raw CCs from track input but I loose takeover.
Then sometimes, I modify things on screen and I want to update a (visual) controller.
And regarding scripting and low level modules, after all these years of having to deal with code for my needs, I just want to play music. I have spent too much time in programming stuff instead of playing music.
