My intention for posting again isn't routed in wanting to cause more drama, although it seems unavoidable on this particular matter. I get it... nobody is forcing anyone to buy, if you don't like this particular update, wait for one the next one and see if that one interests you.

But, surely we can't just say that all developers should now be shielded from ALL criticism? It's all relative, if a developer makes strange decisions, we should still be able to call them out on it, rather than just staying silent simply because that's one option we have and in an ideal world, there would be no drama. Some of it could be called trolling, sure. So, ban those individuals, in those cases.

Other than that, what are we protecting discoDSP from, by saying that if they want to keep opening up this discussion on the actual forum, rather than a press release page, then we're not allowed to openly question them about their decisions?

So, I'm asking this in a polite manner, fully intending to have a rational discussion about why I should reconsider not wanting to upgrade. Because I do like this synth, a lot. It's something that I would be very happy to see an upgrade for, in most cases, depending on the improvements and the cost. Or, not just me, why other people should upgrade too... because to say that we can't criticize discoDSP on this subject and talk about why we think the upgrade price is unfair, means we can't inform others of why the upgrade wouldn't be worth their money, too. Doesn't it? Otherwise, someone reading this thread without having been involved in the previous 2, wouldn't necessarily know anything other than what discoDSP claim in their announcement post.

So, why have they now changed their blurb about the audio quality improvements and now dumbed it down to "a smoother, faster experience"... if those audio improvements were so great to justify the upgrade price in the first place?

I'll try not to place myself in legal trouble here by revealing my personalised upgrade price. I'll just say it's over £80. That's how much they want for some preset banks and a smoother, faster experience.
