TPT/ZDF) with a frequency pre-warp. It does not come before or after, it is the same thing. If this seems confusing, I suggest you work out the bilinear transform from the z-transform of the trapezoidal rule as an exercise. It takes about a minute.

The TPT/ZDF stuff referred here means methods that guarantee time-varying stability, and some have suggested that looking at BLT literature is not worthwhile compared to the TPT/ZDF literature. I cannot find the paper now, but IIRC one central point is that one must use differential equations and not transfer functions. In this sense, literature that deals with transfer functions and time-varying cases is "wrong".
