To leave some positive words as well:
I used playtime 1 for a couple of live streams during the pandemic and loved it.
I am happy that I could stay with Reaper and still get some kind of session view.
Sure, Ableton and Bitwig appear great in this regard, but why switch DAWs, when Reaper already works for me in most other ways?

Playtime 2 is a great reissue with a polished look & feel, and seems to be even better integrated with Reaper.
This is a great example of how a somewhat open platform and committed community improves the situation for everyone.
Yep. v2 is looking great. There are some unique (I think?) clip launching features in there; Non-exclusive mode - multiple clips on the same track can play at the same time, multiple clips per slot that play simultaneously, scratch matrix arrangement inside Playtime, copy the matrix as-is to the Reaper arranger, full-screen mode, and more. There are a few bugs to iron out as is expected from a beta (he highlights some of them in the video), but it's already very good.

I hope the release works out for him and is financially worthwhile - between this and ReaLearn, he's bringing a lot of functionality to Reaper that would (likely) never be implemented by Cockos.
Liking all this this as well, I didn’t use v1 much but v2 is looking good. Non exclusive means you can split drums by pitch on the same track, would be nice if you could drag clips from Reaper into Playtime directly.

Multiple session recording is good, you can copy your best version to Reaper and still keep the others. I think I prefer the launcher as a floating window compared to the Live and Bitwig screen switching.
