I uninstalled beta 10 and installed 5.1.9 to look if it happens there too... whooops... my settings I changed with beta 10 were lost and I had to redo them in 5.1.9...
But that's a downgrade.
As far as i know installing will only pick up settings from an older version; it only copies settings on an upgrade. And in this case there would not be an older version to copy from.

There is some logic to that;
Imagine you install bitwig 5 on a new pc and configure some settings. Then install Bitwig 3.
The settings in v5 have changed since v3. If they would copy the settings from v5 for the v3 installation, v3 would not be able to read them. And probably crash.
I don´t think that stuff like activation, Midi Controller, Audio driver choice and similar would be affected by this...
Additionally you have completely ignored that I told, I noticed there was NO Bitwig Studio folder in appdata local created by beta 10 ...
So tell me: If there is NO folder created, where did the settings go if not in the new folder in packages which gets completely deleted when uninstall??

This is a clean install of beta 11... where is the Bitwig Studio folder???
You confirmed yourself that the one in packages gets deleted... if there is no "normal" one, how shall the settings get overtaken even if not downgrading??

Oh, wait... yes it´s here... just in case you doubt I would have beta 11 even installed:

Why don´t you just test yourself instead of constantly doubting me here??
I doublechecked it 2 times... you are fighting against me just with hot air!
Could be this... could be that...
Is it so hard to believe there is a huge and dangerous error with the new installer system??
