Yes and that's somewhat my point. For example, the Soldano there - it's not just that it broke up in a distorted way, it's that its high gain channel distorted in a way that sounded real and very, very close to the actual amp.But what exactly do you mean by ‘mature’?
What is that technically ..or in sound reproduction terms? To ‘Overdrive well’ means without sizzle / harshness/ grainy-ness no?
This is even more apparent I think with bass amps overdriving, where they now simply get the clean warmth and higher harmonics in sims just like in real amps, but without the glitchiness or *too much* fuzziness. In short, they sound a whole lot more like real bass amps overdriving.
Then again, as I said, the one I keep going back to is Cerberus, which is like 10 years old
