I'd like to answer that if I may. The marketing, dev and creative teams did feel like this plugin is capable of doing lots more than just snares and did ask whether we should call it something else but its raison d'être is to make snares and every effect, parameter and tool within the plugin is designed for making snares! The byproduct is that it can do almost any short percussive sound. But to be faithful to what we created, and also that I don't think there are many dedicated snare plugins on the market, we decided that calling it 'DC Snares' was true to its design ethos and good for marketing too! Hope that helps.Nice work!
One thing I'm puzzled about is why confine it to just snares since it's extremely capable of pretty much any drum sound. It's an excellent all round percussion synth/sampler
I have a drum rack set up in Ableton with a few instances of DC snares for various drum sounds and it's really flexible.
