Awesome. If you do stick with the 1-knob approach, I'd recommend making different versions for different sound sources. Start with a vocal-oriented one first, in which case you should probably include a built-in noise gate to deal with the level issue you mentioned.
This plugin indeed has a built-in unique noise gate, so noise that can be handled by a typical gate plugin isn't an issue. The problem lies with recordings that have extremely loud noise and bleed, such as overhead recordings. While the plugin can effectively control dynamics, the snare and kick will pump severely with the cymbals. This might be interesting as a special effect, but I don't highly recommend it for natural needs in general mixing. In summary, this plugin is more suitable for recordings with a single sound source. It can handle low-level noise and bleed well, but for very loud noise and bleed, I recommend using an AI denoise tool first before applying this plugin.
