Bitwig • Re: Bitwig 5.2 BETA available

No one seems prepared to look into this. Reported to Bitwig and they said speak to library supplier and NI - and those guys say speak to Bitwig.

I repeat, this only happens to Bitwig beta 5.2 (works fine in Bitwig 5.1.9) so something has changed in 5.2. I suspect looking at the crash log files it relates to drawing of the GUI window - maybe the new Bitwig GUI is causing issues with Kontakt.

I agree with you: no one at Bitwig seems to be able to look into this. The techie with whom I was dealing told me that they did not have the code for Kontakt, so their hands were tied. Obviously, from NI's point of view, working out an issue that obviously resulted from a change in Bitwig in a beta isn't going to be regarded as something that they will spend what could be a decent amount of time fixing.

Also, you are exactly right on this as well: this is not a problem in Bitwig Studio 5.1.9. Kontakt loads very solidly and consistently. I can't remember ever having an issue with Kontakt in Bitwig, except for that load timing out issue a while ago, but that was dealt with in an very expeditious fashion (I seem to recall that the BWS version on which that problem occurred was still in beta as well; I don't think it was an issue in a final release.) I really like the techies at Bitwig as they do great work and are responsive. I'm sure that they will, in the end, get this right.

5.2.6 and 5.2.7 have now fixed the issue with loading some Kontakt library's, at least for me!
